SIID 477 Effective Clinical Learning
Succeeding in Clinical Studies Without Stress or Exhaustion
Many students in the Doctor of Medicine program face challenges transitioning from pre-clinical to clinical studies. This course aims to help students understand the clinical learning environment and learn effectively in this setting.
In clinical practice, students encounter a wide variety of patients, ranging from straightforward to complex cases. How should students handle real-life situations, interact with actual patients, or step into a real operating room? This course will offer insights into the physician’s experience, helping students gain confidence and understanding in their clinical roles.
Learning doesn’t only come from instructors; peer-to-peer support and teaching are also essential. When medical students share insights with classmates or younger cohorts, they reinforce their own knowledge and build a collaborative learning environment. This approach strengthens both academic understanding and relationships between senior and junior students.
