Evaluation of new teacher's education competency
Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University
has been tasked with teaching and evaluating personnel who will serve as faculty members at the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital. This is to ensure that they possess the fundamental skills required for teaching in a medical school setting. To this end, guidelines have been established for the assessment of teaching skills and attitudes toward the teaching profession as follows:

Basic education principles for new medical teachers
In-Class (Onsite) or Online Training through SHEE Online Course
(Learning materials, watching videos, and passing assessments). This training requires 35 hours, equivalent to 5 days.

For Onsite Training: Participants must attend at least 90% of the total in-class training hours.

For Online Course: Participants must complete all video clips and score at least 80% on each module's assessment.

Evaluation of new teacher’s education competency
Two - Day Training Program Requirements.
- Classroom Attendance: Participants must attend at least 90% of in-class activities.
- Evaluation Criteria for Educational Skills: Participants must meet the assessment criteria in all 3 dimensions
1. Knowledge Teaching Skills and Teaching Material Development: Minimum score of 80%.
2. Skill Teaching and Attitude: Minimum score of 80%.
3. Quality Exam Creation Skills: Exam quality score of at least 80%.
Evaluation of New Teacher’s Education Competency Activity
(For those who have completed the Fundamental Knowledge for New Medical Educators Training)
2-day new staff evaluation of education competency
3-round per year (Jan, May, Sep): Each round accommodates 12 - 24 staffs)
Prerequisite: Completion of the Basic principles for new medical teachers training is required before registration.
(Registration: Opens 2-3 months prior to the evaluation dates)
Education project
- Education Project Proposal Presentation: Must achieve a score of at least 60%.
- Education Project Summary Presentation: Must achieve a score of at least 60%.
- Participation in Peer Project Presentations: Must attend at least two sessions where other faculty members present their education projects.
