Philosophy and Justification of the Curriculum

                  Educating healthcare workforces in the current situation is an important job that requires a special group of experts who understand educational concepts and principles and know-how the health care system works. This program intends to produce graduates who are equipped with knowledge, skills, and attitudes, which makes them ready to take responsibilities in educational services in the context of health science schools. Mahidol University Education Philosophy, “Administering education that focuses on learners’ achievements by means of a learning-centered approach for self-development of knowledge, abilities, and new skills”, will be implemented to groom the students during their studies. These graduates will all carry with them the philosophy of Mahidol University, True success is not in their learning, but in its application to the benefit of mankind. They will be change agents in their organization, making significant changes to improve educational quality in their settings.

Objectives of the Program

By the end of the study, students are able to

  1. Demonstrate ethical practices in providing educational services and apply ethical principles to guide others towards appropriate practices
  2. Explain basic principles in health science education, including research, teaching and learning, assessment, curriculum, program evaluation, and leadership
  3. Analyze the problems, synthesize solutions, evaluate educational research, and apply basic educational principles to improve learning, assessment, curriculum, and organizational management
  4. Work effectively with others, either as a leader or followers, and take full responsibility in their work
  5. Analyze quantitative or qualitative data collected from educational research and summarize the findings properly, communicate effectively in verbal or written format, and employ educational technology constructively
