SHEE Journal No. 2 2022 (Full Version)
In this issue, the team presents the theme: "Simulation in Health Science Education". Simulation-based teaching has become increasingly diverse, with various formats used in health science education today. These include role-playing by students, using standardized patients (SP), practicing procedural skills with part-task trainers, full-body mannequins, computer-based simulations for diagnosing and solving patient problems, and even utilizing advanced technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR).
As educators in health science schools, it is essential to adapt and incorporate these simulation tools into the curriculum to enhance the learning experience and effectively assess students' competencies. The articles in this issue of SHEE Journal aim to explore the applications of simulation in health science education, providing valuable insights and practical guidance on how to use these technologies to improve both teaching and learning outcomes.
This edition includes contributions from faculty members and experts in the field, offering practical examples and strategies to successfully integrate simulation into health science education. These insights will help educators make the most of simulation techniques, ultimately fostering better learning environments and more competent healthcare professionals.
